The newest version of the charming Greubel Forsey Double Tourbillon 30° Technique has a crystal engraved body so you can see the movement from any angle.
Transparency is not just a parasitic word in politics. From now on, and for years, it is already a trend, a symbol of luxury watches. Earlier this year, for example, Hablot unveiled the Big Bang Unico Sapphire, a watch whose case is carved from sapphire, the first time the material has been engraved to such a scale.
And now Greubel Forsey, the manufacturer of the world’s most sophisticated watches, presents the Double Tourbillon 30° Technique. This is a watch that the company has already produced, but now its case is engraved with sapphire. Greubel Forsey calls them the pinnacle of transparency, and it’s clear why. In the creation of the dial and case, no metal was used at all (except for the spring), which allows you to see all the movements, all the movements – all the dynamic interactions.
Engraved with a single sapphire crystal, including all parts of the case, all movement is assembled under the 38.4mm case, all movement filled with light can be seen from any angle. This watch is even more complex than Hablot, and here sapphire is used in many parts of the watch.
Its 396-piece move is not new – this look has already been presented in platinum, but now it is presented in its entirety. Energy reserve for 120 hours, double mechanism, one inside the other, Two tourbillons can rotate in different directions, one against the other, at different speeds. The outer tourbillon rotates every four minutes and the inner tourbillon rotates every 60 seconds. All this helped the movement to achieve a previously unheard of 915 points out of 1000 possible, in an international chronometry competition.
Eight units of watches were produced exclusively for the US market, they were made by hand for three years, valued at $ 1,275 million each.
